Overview
Sixty households share one 250 kW ground-mount array on the edge of Sunset Hills — including renters and shaded homes that could never host their own panels. Subscribers buy discounted solar credits on their regular bill.
The Challenge
The site was a disused pasture with uneven grade and a grid connection half a mile away. We regraded with minimal soil movement, drove 480 piles in nine days, and trenched the interconnection alongside an existing farm road.
Our Approach
- Single-axis trackers for 18% more yield than fixed tilt
- String inverters in pairs for redundancy — one failure never idles the farm
- Sheep-grazing vegetation plan instead of mowing contracts
- Live subscriber dashboard showing each home's share
Results
The farm has generated clean power for 60 homes since spring 2025, with subscribers saving an average of 12% against utility rates and availability above 99%.
